WHO WE ARE
The Girlx Lab is a Black woman-led research group at the University of California San Francisco. We are developing new ways to improve the health and well-being of Black adolescent girls of all gender identities. We are committed to empowering Black girls, conducting innovative research in partnership with Black girls, and uncovering opportunities for policy and systemic change.
WHAT WE ARE DOING
We are building our youth advisory team and gathering Black girls in the Bay Area to work closely with us from January – July 2023 as a part of our Youth Advisory Team. Each team member will have an opportunity to help guide and provide valuable feedback on the work that we are doing. Team members will also have a chance to explore the current state of adolescent health and well-being, learn about academic research in a university environment, build professional health and well-being, learn about academic research in a university environment, and build professional skills.
